Since the watch tab auction didn't provide a weight, the first thing I did upon receipt of the tabs was to weigh them.  They total 20 ounces of sterling silver.  To do an accurate calculation of their value as pure silver I should first multiply 20 Oz. by 0.925 to get the weight of pure silver.  There are 31 grams per troy oz. so these tabs contain 0.59677 troy oz of pure silver.

I can't help but think these numbers may look a little silly in a year or two.  They will either seem really cheap, or ridiculously high.  

I do have some sterling silver spoons I bought for my Spoon Rings website for which I paid about $15 per oz a few months ago.  That seemed high at the time and I was afraid to buy much for fear I would get stuck with a lot of high priced silver.  I am Not suited to be a precious metals speculator!
